A brand born from pride. Built for the neighborhood.®
A Vietnamese retail brand where heritage meets the high street.
CCBMART is a Vietnamese retail grocery chain with a soul rooted in the spirit of the nation's veterans. CCB, short for Cựu Chiến Binh, carries deep cultural weight. The challenge was building a brand identity that honored that heritage while standing strong as a modern retail presence on the street.

Problem
Three identities to carry. One mark to hold them all.
CCBMART sits at the intersection of three distinct worlds: Vietnamese national pride, the legacy of the country's veterans, and the energy of a modern retail chain. Each element carries its own visual language and emotional weight. The risk of getting it wrong was high, leaning too military and the brand feels cold, too commercial and it loses its meaning, too nostalgic and it feels dated. The brief demanded a mark that could walk into any neighborhood, feel immediately familiar, and still carry the dignity of the people it represents.

Solution
Military green, market red, and a star that means something.
The solution came through color and type. Military olive green anchors the brand in the veteran spirit, while a bold market red brings the energy and visibility of retail. The five-pointed star, a symbol of Vietnamese national pride, was embedded directly into the wordmark, turning a typographic detail into a cultural statement. The typography draws from the retro design vernacular of mid-century Vietnam, referencing hand-painted signage and printed collateral from an earlier era, but set with enough structure to feel confident in the present. The result is a brand that feels classic and contemporary at once. The identity was applied across the full brand system: logo, storefront signage, packaging, uniforms, and brand collateral, built to scale as the chain expands.

Concept
Old soul. New chapter.
CCBMART is not just a grocery store. It is a statement of identity by a community that has earned its place. The design system was built to carry that statement consistently, from the moment a customer sees the storefront to the packaging they bring home. Every element, the colors, the star, the retro letterforms, works together to tell a story without needing to explain itself. The brand is currently being rolled out across store locations, taking a fully realized identity from the drawing board to the street.
