Four published books. One consistent visual language built around stillness.

Michael Dreamer is an author of mindfulness and self-growth books, published and sold on Amazon worldwide. Across a series of four titles, I designed the full visual identity of his work, from logo and brand direction to book covers, interior layout, typography, and illustration. The goal was never to impress. It was to create something someone could return to.

Woman

Problem

Design that helps without getting in the way.

Book design sits at one of the most delicate intersections in visual work: the balance between aesthetics and readability. A journal that deals with anxiety, overthinking, and inner peace cannot afford to feel cluttered, loud, or visually demanding. The design must support the reading experience without drawing attention to itself. At the same time, it needs enough visual presence to stand out on a shelf and invite someone in. Maintaining that balance consistently across hundreds of pages, four titles, and a range of formats, from interior spreads to covers to special pages, required a clear and disciplined design language from the very beginning.

Solution

Keep removing until what remains feels honest.

The design system built for Michael Dreamer's books is rooted in restraint. Typography is soft and readable, never competing with the words it carries. Layouts are open and breathable, with deliberate white space that gives the reader room to pause and reflect. Decorative elements, botanical illustrations, subtle textures, and symbolic motifs like the Easter lily, are placed with intention, offering meaning for those who recognize it and quiet beauty for those who don't. Each book cover was designed as a quiet invitation, calm enough to feel safe and considered enough to feel special. The same language carries through every interior page, creating a rhythm that mirrors the journey the reader is being guided through.

Man Ground Shot

Concept

A visual language built around stillness.

Working with Michael Dreamer was less about executing a brief and more about aligning with a vision. His writing is calm, reflective, and deeply human. The design follows naturally from that. Every decision, from color to type to illustration, was made in service of one idea: the design should step aside and let the reader arrive. Four books have now been published and are available on Amazon, each one a continuation of the same quiet, consistent identity built to sit beside someone during the moments they need it most.
